308 Bolt Gas Rings

An important component in any direct impingement (gas-operated) AR308 is the gas rings or gas sealing rings that are on the back of the bolt inside the carrier. When a round is fired, some of the gas from the burning powder is then sent back via the gas tube to the bolt carrier. This gas is what expands and operates the bolt and the carrier allowing your AR308 to eject spent brass and pick up a new round.
