The Phoenix Weaponry - "Christine" .45-70 Auto

This is built on our RFL (308) upper/lower with a custom barrel and barrel bushing.

What’s one of the most iconic rounds ever chambered in a firearm? The .45-70 Government cartridge was first introduced in 1873 for the military, then later transitioned to civilian use and is still in high demand today. Manufacturers like Springfield, Winchester, and Marlin chambered rifles in this round, and with a steady hand and a good rest most would shoot a 4-inch group at 100 yards.

Fast forward almost 150 years with world-class machines, decades of custom rifle building, and top-grade U.S.A. billet materials Phoenix Weaponry creates the .45-70 auto. Make no mistake this cartridge far exceeds the size, power, and muzzle velocities of a .458 SOCOM, .450 Bushmaster,.450 Marlin, .50 Beowolf and .50 AE.

Phoenix Weaponry takes standard size .45-70 brass and uses a specially made tool to rebate the rim of the cartridge turning it from a rimmed cartridge to a rimless one that can be used in a semi or full-auto rifle while maintaining the length of factory .45-70 brass.

With modern projectiles, powder, and primers Phoenix Weaponry is able to load .45-70 auto rounds from 250 grains all the way up to 500 grains exceeding 4,000-foot-pounds of muzzle energy. Combining that load data with a custom match grade barrel and machining tolerances used in aerospace components makes the Christine .45-70 auto a sub-minute rifle at 800+ yards

Christine .45-70 Auto

Designing and building a rifle that will safely and accurately shoot those heavy projectiles at long distances was no easy feat. Only the billet AR .308 upper and lower receiver set by Phoenix Weaponry is trusted to handle this round. The rifle is then completed with every billet part that Phoenix Weaponry machines right down to the trigger and an optional suppressor makes for one of the most unique and powerful rifles available for the commercial market - the Christine .45-70 auto.

This beast will bust down doors for breaching purposes and has proven itself in the field by dispatching enormous wild bovine with ease and efficiency. Featured on the cover of Recoil, Trigger, and a host of other magazines. This cartridge because of its straight wall also fills the requirements for hunting with a semi auto rifle in the states of Iowa, Indiana, and Ohio. Our customers and end users count on our precision, performance and reliability when it matters the most, and all our materials and components are domestically sourced so we can proudly say, “Made in USA”.
